ESIN is committed to building a community of trust, where members can share information in order to promote each others' research and professional goals, while we work to improve the lives of the communities that we, as scholars, serve. To protect your interests and those of other network members, we ask that all applicants read and agree to uphold the following code of ethics.

Disclaimer of Liability. This site attempts to ensure that the information contained within it is accurate and up-to-date, but does not guarantee accuracy and currency of the content. We ask that scholars pledge to update their profiles as often as possible to help ensure the accuracy of the site and improve their own potential to benefit from the site's features. Information contained should not be copied, altered or distributed without written consent from the Emerging Scholars Interdisciplinary Network. Unauthorized use of the content is prohibited.

Sections of the site that contain databases with members' personal and professional information can be accessed only with authorized passwords. We will reduce the possibility of unauthorized use of this information by providing tight security. However, the site, its agents, and employees will not be liable for unauthorized use of the information by violators.

All parties submitting materials to the ESIN website represent and warrant that the submission and use of such materials in connection with the ESIN website will not violate any other party's proprietary rights.

The site, its agents, and employees will not be liable for any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly from the possession, publication, or use of or reliance on information obtained from these web pages. They are provided in good faith without express or implied warranty.

Posting Agreement. We welcome postings on research projects and findings, funding, conferences, and training opportunities as well on social justice & public health that provide:

a) Information (e.g. about conferences or job announcements or publications relevant to and making explicit links between research, community capacity building, social justice & public health), and

b) substantive queries or comments directly addressing issues relevant to and making explicit links between social justice and public health.

If your posting is only about social justice/political issues, or only about public health issues, and does not explicitly connect issues of social justice & public health, please do not post it on this website.

Please do NOT post petitions containing text suggesting (or requesting) that signatures should be sent to the bulletin boards, as the signatures and replies place an undue burden on our system. Also, to limit e-mail volume, please do not send posts directed toward a single individual to the list at large. Instead of hitting "reply," cut and paste the person's address into the "To" field, and send your message directly to her or him.
